ABOUT ME

Hi Everyone, I'm Laura. I grew up practicing yoga and connecting to nature in my native states of Colorado and Wyoming. I initially trained in the more traditional means of one-on-one guidance under my first influential teacher where I spent two years as an apprentice of a hybrid Ashtanga-Power Vinyasa style focused on tailoring the practice to the individual. I have been teaching since 2007, and am a certified as E-RYT 200, E-RYT 500, YACEP, Pain Care Aware provider, and Yoga Therapist in training.

My teachings aim to provide students with a deeper awareness and understanding of the physical and its interwovenness with all aspects of our being. I spent 10 years living in Europe dedicated to creating positive change for the world. There, my interests in the physical manifestations of stress, trauma, grief and injury led me to deepen my study of anatomy, pranayama, energy work, meditation, one-on-one customized yoga, and to found Balanced Yoga LLC.

Yoga shows us how to develop peace and balance in each moment of our lives, which looks different for everyone, and it is my intent to help students find the yoga practice that best serves them. I offer many styles including Gentle, Yin, Restorative, Yin/Yang, Slow Flow, Hatha, Power, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Sound Healing. My classes incorporate somatic movement, breath work, chanting and mindfulness to foster reconnecting with our wholeness.

ABOUT BALANCED YOGA THERAPY

Grounded in the tools of Yoga and Ayurveda, Balanced Yoga Therapy aims to help individuals reconnect to wholeness through intentional practices and daily habits that bring us back towards Balance, sama.

Our entire being is connected. We do not live as a single body part, or emotion. Our inherent wisdom is always working to return us to balance. Balanced Yoga Therapy recognizes our entire being- physically, mentally, and even spiritually. It is a space where we can honor the interconnectedness of our physical and mental being and reconnect to our wholeness through the tools of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Each day and each season, balance looks different for each of us. By working 1:1 we can truly acknowledge your present moment and build a toolbox that will foster greater ease and peace.

"Yoga is the study of balance, and balance is the aim of all living creatures; it is our home."

-Rolf Gates

What It's Like Working With Me

1) It all starts with an intro call. This is your opportunity to ask questions and explore how yoga therapy can be beneficial for you.

2) After the call, you will receive an intake form+initial assessment session which can be treated as a self check-in questionnaire. During the initial assessment session we will go over your answers in more detail and see what is showing up physically for you.

3) During the follow-up sessions we will refine and build on the practices that are working for you. It is highly recommended to at least 3 follow-up sessions.
